City & Architecture Photography
Dubai, for me definitely the most amazing city in the world. Not just because of the skyscraper jungles and biggest, best… records, but because of its divergent citizens and opportunities. If you have the chance to access a rooftop in Dubai, maybe for a cocktail or just for the view, take it. You will be impressed of this metropole.
Not just the tower – Burj Khalifa, with it’s 828m the tallest manmade structure – the entire city is full of decadence in the superlative form. Everything is clean, looking for flattened chewing gums in vain, even the highway piers are painted and decorated with ornaments. In the middle of the wilderness, in the Arabian desert, a city has been built, and shows what is most expensive in the desert: water. At the airport, it flows down the walls meter by meter, at the foot of Burj Khalifa, where the famous Dubai Fountains are located – biggest in the world, every half hour from 6 pm every day, water is shot into the air in spectacular form dancing to various music pieces whether Vivaldi, Whitney Huston or Arabic sounds, the water, decorated with cheerful colors. Up to 150 meters high – definitely a world record.
The amazing artificial Marina by night makes you think about how fast this city has grown. I shot this one from the roof of the Intercontinental Dubai Marina Hotel.
This particular place in Dubai has a whole range of very tall buildings, including the tallest manmade building – the Burj Khalifa – reaching impressive 828m. This session was also made difficult by the fact that I was shooting from a rooftop on a pretty windy day.
One of the places i really love in Dubai. The Marina and The Walk, both have a great atmosphere to stroll around, dine or relax on the beach.
A place wich never fails to amaze me is Madinat Jumeirah. With ist crystal clear water canals and traditional arches it is one of the most impressive places around the city.
Dubai is famous for its soaring skyline – and that’s not the only feat of engineering to capture the world’s imagination. Built from reclaimed land in a series of artificial archipelagos, Palm Jumeirah is shaped like a palm tree when viewed from above and Burj Khalifa with 828m standing proud as the tallest building on earth.
